You probably wonder why I haven’t been in touch lately. Seeing as my blog is called ‘Kat at home’, and I am never home any more, it’s hard to find the time to talk you through everything. I also have to admit, no funny things happen to me anymore. Now it’s your turn to say ‘ahhhh, poor you’.
I have been working for 5 weeks now and time in between has become scarce. But instead of using my time off to sleep and come down, I do lots of things. Obviously I spend all the waking hours with the kids, but I also do other things, like going to the life ball, running a 5k run and getting drunk in between. Of course I did not get drunk before running! I also am proud to tell you that I ran my best time ever – and that without a naked guy stalking me! As I only slept 4 hours the night before and didn’t have time to train for a couple of weeks, I am really proud of myself.
Let me tell you some more about the life ball. The Life Ball is one of the biggest AIDS charity events in the world and an internationally unique ball. People dress up, and lots of celebrities come to join the festivities. Everyone I know wants to attend the life ball, because it is such a great spectacle. My friend who works for one of the sponsoring companies gets tickets. This year, her poor husband got sick two days before the event, which resulted in me being the lucky second choice! As the theme was AIR and ‘spread the wings of tolerance’, we dressed up as angels. The two of us, and 75% of the rest of the attendees. It’s amazing to watch all the beautiful costumes and to see to what lengths people go in order to look great. I saw so many men in high heels, who definitely walk better in them than me. The opening included a fashion show by Dsquared, and although I can’t tell you what kind of clothes they do, I have to admit the models were gorgeous. If I had to guess, I’d say they make skimpy underpants for men…If you ever have the chance to attend this ball, I can highly recommend it!
